Homicide count rises in Little Rock, double murder investigation currently underway

Little Rock, Arkansas – The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) has started an investigation into a double homicide that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

This incident took place in the 2100 block of Pine Street, with officers responding promptly to the scene around 3:30 p.m.

The authorities apprehended 54-year-old Tyron Nutt in association with this deadly shooting, which claimed the lives of 29-year-old Broderick Ray and 36-year-old Brandon Ray.

Additionally, an individual sustained injuries during this incident but is currently in a stable condition, as reported by the LRPD.

Local resident Whitney Cunningham shared her personal account with Local News Little Rock. As she arrived at her parent’s residence, where her 13-year-old son was at the time, she heard the gunfire. Her son, who was at home during the incident, also heard the shots and witnessed part of the event.

“He was spooked,” Cunningham shared, conveying her uncertainty about the exact details of what her son observed, but affirming that he was indeed distressed by the situation.

With these tragic events, Little Rock’s count of homicides for the year 2023 has risen to 29.
