Little Rock, Arkansas – Two cities in Arkansas have been recognized among the most cost-effective places to purchase a home in the United States, as indicated by a recent study.

Research released by the scholarship-search site, Scholaroo, placed Fort Smith and Little Rock at positions 11 and 13 respectively for housing affordability. The study’s criteria incorporated 152 cities and devised a ranking system based on metrics including average home value, prevailing property taxes, mean monthly household earnings, and the relationship between monthly payments and monthly income.

In assessing potential shifts in median home values over the ensuing three years, Fort Smith led Little Rock with an anticipated 3.61% growth, compared to the latter’s 1.94% expansion.

A noteworthy observation from the analysis revealed a regional pattern. Of the leading 10 cities in terms of affordability, nine are located in the southern U.S., with Alabama cities – Montgomery, Birmingham, and Mobile – occupying the top three ranks. Conversely, the majority of the cities positioned as least affordable were in California, though Yonkers, New York, was placed at the extreme end of the list, ranking 152nd.
