Stuttgart, Arkansas – The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) recognized one of its retail partners by presenting a $10,000 bonus check to RP Fuel in Stuttgart after the store sold a $1 million winning instant lottery ticket earlier this year.

The check presentation took place on June 30 and celebrated both the retailer’s role in selling the winning ticket and its ongoing partnership with the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.

According to lottery officials, the winning ticket came from the $1,000,000 Jackpot instant game and was sold in April. Officials also noted that one $1 million top prize is still available in the game for future players.

Lottery celebrates retailer and scholarship mission

Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Executive Director Sharon Strong thanked RP Fuel for its continued partnership and recognized the important role lottery retailers play across the state.

“We were excited to support our retail partner, RP Fuel,” said ASL Executive Director Sharon Strong. “Our retail partners play a key role in our success, and we appreciate the way we work together to advance our mission of raising in-state scholarship proceeds through lottery ticket sales.”

Under Arkansas Scholarship Lottery rules, retailers receive a 1 percent commission on the sale of winning lottery products, with retailer bonuses capped at $50,000.

Since the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery began operations in 2009, retailers throughout the state have earned more than $484 million in commissions. During that same period, lottery proceeds have helped fund more than 873,000 scholarships for Arkansas students pursuing higher education.

The celebration included more than the presentation of the bonus check. Lottery officials hosted a special retailer appreciation event at RP Fuel, where customers who purchased a $2 LOTTO ticket had the opportunity to spin a prize wheel featuring Arkansas Scholarship Lottery promotional items.

To add to the festivities, RP Fuel also offered free pizza and discounted gasoline prices to customers attending the event.

The celebration was made even more special by the attendance of the $1 million winner, Stuttgart resident Rodrigo C., who joined family members in taking part in the event honoring both the retailer and the life-changing lottery win.

Lottery officials said the event highlighted the partnership between retailers and the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery while continuing to support scholarships that benefit students across the state.
