Little Rock, Arkansas – Amazon, the global e-commerce giant, is gearing up for the holiday rush by significantly expanding its workforce in Arkansas. As part of its preparations for the expected surge in holiday shoppers, Amazon has announced its intention to hire an additional 1,700 employees in the state. This hiring spree encompasses full-time, seasonal, and part-time roles.

The move to hire 1,700 Arkansans forms a fraction of a much larger nationwide recruitment drive by the company. Across the U.S., Amazon is onboarding a staggering 250,000 additional employees to cater to the holiday demand.

Prospective employees in Arkansas have more to rejoice about beyond the sheer volume of available positions. Amazon has sweetened the deal by raising the starting pay for these new roles, with an average hourly rate of $20.50, as revealed by company officials.

John Felton, Amazon’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations, emphasized the diverse range of opportunities on offer, catering to people from all walks of life. He said, “Whether someone is looking for a short-term way to make extra money, or is hoping to take their first step toward a fulfilling and rewarding career at Amazon, there’s a role available for them.”

The company’s commitment to Arkansas is evident not just in its hiring patterns but also in its economic contributions. Amazon has reportedly injected over $1.7 billion into Arkansas’s GDP. Additionally, it has been responsible for the creation of more than 4,000 direct jobs and an additional 6,600 indirect employment opportunities within the state.

For those eager to seize this opportunity and join the Amazon family, applications are open and can be made directly through their official portal at Amazon.com/Apply.
