Multiple locations set for MLK Commission’s Back-to-School Supply handout

Arkansas – As the school year commences, the need for school supplies for children becomes paramount. Recognizing this, the Martin Luther King Commission has launched its 2023 Back to School Supply Giveaway Tour.

The commission has arranged for teams to be present at various strategic locations across the state to facilitate this initiative.

On August 9, distribution centers will be operational from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at three sites in Little Rock, two in North Little Rock, and singular venues in Hot Springs, Stuttgart, and Lowell.

Subsequently, on August 10, there will be evening distribution points established in Smackover and Norphlet.

The detailed venue list is as follows:

August 9 (12 p.m. – 3 p.m.)

Little Rock:

  • The Restoration Center: 10610 Chicot Road
  • Crump Park: Intersection of S. Chester St. and W. 33rd St.
  • The Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission: 906 Broadway St.

North Little Rock:

  • Brothers Barber Shop: 4720 Camp Robinson Road, Suite D
  • Thankful Salon: 4306 Highway 161

Hot Springs:

  • Family Park: 215 Family Park Road

Stuttgart:

  • Stuttgart Police Department: 514 S. Main St.

August 10 (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.)

Smackover:

  • Smackover Elementary School: 701 Magnolia St.
  • Smackover High School: #1 Buckaroo Lane

Norphlet:

  • Norphlet Middle School: 700 School St.

The commission encourages parents and guardians to utilize this opportunity to secure essential school supplies for their children.
