Little Rock, Arkansas – An Arkansas man, aged 25, was taken into custody on Friday in connection with a female’s death, whose remains were discovered inside an SUV in May.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Kyle Holman from Lamar was arrested and faces manslaughter charges. The incident unfolded on May 13 when Jaqueline Smith’s body was discovered in the passenger seat of a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe.

Evidence collected during the inquiry suggests that Ms. Smith was hit by an automobile at a separate county location prior to the authorities being notified of an unconscious woman at the address “10833 Highway 352 in Clarksville.”

Following a thorough joint review by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, the Johnson County Coroner’s Office, and the Arkansas State Police, an affidavit was presented by Det. Joshua Heidelberg to the Fifth Judicial Prosecutors Office, recommending a manslaughter charge.

Subsequently, three months post the incident, Mr. Holman was incarcerated at the Johnson County Detention Center. His charges encompass manslaughter, possession of drug-related equipment, and rash driving.

Legal provisions stipulate that manslaughter can result in a maximum imprisonment of ten years and a financial penalty of $10,000. A court hearing for Mr. Holman is scheduled for October 4.

In an official communication, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office expressed their gratitude, stating, “We would like to express thanks to the hard work of our Johnson County Deputies and Investigators along with the Johnson County Coroners Office, and the additional agencies that assisted us in this investigation.”
