Little Rock, Arkansas – The Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock reverberated with celebrations, acknowledgments, and the spirit of empowerment last week. The Women’s Foundation of Arkansas (WFA) marked its 25th annual Power of the Purse event, gathering people from all walks of life to reflect on the organization’s commendable journey and its road ahead.

Celebrating Women of Impact

In partnership with Arkansas Children’s, this year’s Power of the Purse event celebrated a quarter-century of the WFA’s profound generational impact on women and girls in the state. One of the highlights was the unveiling of the “Top 100 Women of Impact in Arkansas” list. A successor to the original “Top 100 Women in Arkansas,” this 2023 list paid tribute to women from diverse industries, age groups, and communities. These women have established themselves as path-breaking leaders and influential change-makers, setting examples and inspiring countless others in the state.

Anna Beth Gorman, CEO of the WFA, expressed her gratitude to the foundation’s donors and sponsors. She noted, “We are thankful for our dedicated donors and sponsors who made our 25th annual Power of the Purse a tremendous success, far exceeding our goals.” She emphasized the event’s significance as both a nod to past achievements and a beacon for the future. Encouraging women across Arkansas, she added, “Now is the time to step up, engage and help further our mission to create an equitable future for generations of Arkansas women and girls.”

Contributing to the event’s success were major sponsors like Arkansas Children’s, MHP/Team SI, Acxiom, Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield, Entergy Arkansas, Southwest Airlines, and Little Rock Soirée.

The Women’s Foundation of Arkansas has consistently been at the forefront of championing the economic well-being of women and girls in Arkansas. For 25 years, the foundation has singularly focused on enhancing the economic mobility and security of this demographic. Through strategic collaborations and targeted philanthropic investments, the WFA has ushered in positive change, offering women and girls opportunities, security, and a platform to thrive. As they embark on the next chapter, the foundation’s unwavering commitment remains crystal clear.
